Creed 3 Soundtrack Guide: Every Song In The Rocky Spinoff & When They Play (2024)

Creed III has a knockout soundtrack with songs to keep the blood pumping and the heart soaring in the Rocky spin-off. The ninth installment in the Rocky franchise finds the Italian Stallion's protégé Adonis Creed (director and star Michael B. Jordan) facing the opponent of his career in Damian "Diamond Dame" Anderson. Dame reenters Donnie's life just as it's reached the top, a childhood friend with a chip on his shoulder over serving prison time for an altercation the former World Heavyweight Champ actually started, and composer Joseph Shirley amplifies the emotional current that undercuts their bouts with a moving score.

The Creed III soundtrack is produced by J. Cole's Dreamville Records, known for utilizing strong underground artists, and features Morray, Headhunters, Ari Lennox, and J. Cole's re-imagining of a classic Dr. Dre song. "The Watcher" by Dr. Dre: This classic 1999 song from Dr. Dre's album 2001 plays when Dame comes to pick Donnie up and sneak him out of Mary Anne's house. It would have been popular at the time of their friendship in the late '90s and foreshadows the future of their relationship after Dame takes Donnie under his wing with lyrics like "best friends and money, I lost them both."

"Lay Low" by Snoop Dogg, Master P, Nate Dogg, Butch Cassidy & Tha Eastsidaz: This Snoop Dogg collaboration from his 2000 album Tha Last Meal can be heard playing softly in the car as a teenage Dame drives a young Donnie home after winning his fight.

"Ogogoro" by Dreamville, Bas, & Arya Starr: When Bianca hosts an industry event to showcase new talent as a producer, this smooth tune sets the vibe just before Drago's son gets attacked.

"Grinding All My Life" by Nipsey Hussle: The late Nipsey Hussle provides Diamond Dame's first walkout song against Felix Chavez, and it's fierce. It sets the tone for the fight and reflects how much Dame has fought to be where he is, replacing Rocky in Creed 3 as the true underdog.

"Viene Por Sangre" by Joseph Shirley and Jvzel: Felix Chavez walks out to a rousing original song from the Creed III score meant to inspire pride and integrity in the Mexican fighter. It's one of the best entrances in the Creed franchise but unfortunately, doesn't give Felix the strength to win the fight, and Dame uses crude tactics to make him down for the count.

"Adonis Interlude (The Montage)" by J. Cole: Creed 3 gives Adonis his Rocky steps moment with a rigorous training montage, and this song plays during Donnie's grueling scenes before the final fight with Dame. The song also contains an excerpt from Dr. Dre's "The Watcher" to tie into the childhood demons and trauma that Donnie is also fighting against.

"Anthem" by Dreamville, Big Sean, And Est Gee: This is a powerful song that reflects a true champion, and is perfect for Creed's walkout song. Adonis Creed has to get the gold back, even if it means coming out of retirement, and this song reflects his fighting spirit on the road to reclaiming the World Heavyweight Championship.

"Last Time That I Checc'd" by Nipsey Hussle (feat. YG): Another pumping song by Nipsey Hussle is used as Dame's final walkout song for the big fight against Creed, and it highlights that Dame isn't scared of Donnie. Dame plans to defend what he feels he's owed, even if it means beating his childhood friend within an inch of his life to claim all the glory.

"Blood, Sweat & Tears (feat. Kel-P)" by Dreamville, Bas, & Black Sherif: This song plays over the end credits of the movie after Donnie settles things with Dame and is joined in the empty ring by his wife and daughter, and ends the movie on a positive vibe.
