Artificial gravity has many benefits for #spacesettlement besides mitigating health issues associated with microgravity. Operations, life support, safety, and training are just some of the aspects of living in space made better with a gravity vector! https://lnkd.in/gY7Sn8TQ

It would be beneficial if we had hypothetical artificial gravity deck plating that doesn’t rely on rotating structures in a 0 gee environment.

South Korea plans to enter the space solar power arena in their own way with a design for a 12 square kilometer solar cell array in Geosynchronous Orbit beaming 2GW of delivered power to a rectenna located in the Demilitarized Zone. Joon-Min Choi and Su-Jin Choi of the Korea Aerospace Research Institute and Sang-Hwa Yi of the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute also include a novel approach for decommissioning the facility and describe plans for a near term Low Earth Orbit small sat pilot demonstration flight in their paper in a new publication called the Journal of Space Power and Wireless Transmission. https://lnkd.in/gs654ybv

NASA and space settlement advocates are justifiably excited about resources on the Moon, especially water ice known to be present in permanently shadowed regions at the lunar poles, because of it’s potential as a source of oxygen and fuel that could be sourced in situ, saving the costs of transporting these valuable commodities from Earth. But we don't know exactly where and how much ice there is, or how its distributed in the lunar regolith. Time for a prospecting campaign for liquid gold to kickstart a cislunar economy toward #spacesettlement! https://lnkd.in/gYpKZBud
